"Draco, we know you've not been yourself lately, but it's not worth it, mate!" said Blaise.
"Of course it is!" said Draco. "I am wretched and woeful, and stuff like that. I crave death!"
Millicent and Greg stared at him, stricken.
"Please, darling," said Pansy.
"My mind is made up!" said Draco, and swayed again.
"Somebody do something!" Beatrice Truesdale-Yarborough-von Heimlich begged. "Save this poor boy!" She looked as though she were about to faint into the strong arms of Alastair Guy Edmund St. John Threapleton III.
Everyone turned to look at Harry expectantly.
"Oh, fine," said Harry, pushing through the crowd. He made his way between Pansy and Blaise, till he was standing in front of Draco.
"Malfoy, listen to me," he said, his voice a polished emo monotone. "Do not do it, please do not jump. There are people who care about you, although I can't imagine why. And etcetera and so forth."
"No! Today shall be my final day on this earth!" Draco professed. "Will you all remember my name?"
"Probably. At least for a while," said Harry. Pansy smacked him on the arm. "OW. I meant. I meant, Malfoy, um." He held out his hand, waving it around half-heartedly. "Here, take my hand and I will save you."
